I had no intention of taking a zero day today. However, I had a rough start. I struggled sleeping in the park last night, and I awoke to a very sore throat this morning. I’m not sure if I have an allergy or something, but sore throats were a common occurrence when I dropped in elevation in Colorado or when I went into town. A day off was in the back of my mind. I am expecting an Amazon package — nothing critical, just a fleece — so I hope that arrives tomorrow.
I hit the Oxbow for breakfast and dug into another Santa Fe skillet. This has been my second favorite breakfast, beat by the huevos rancheros in Steamboat.
I bummed around McDonald’s for a few hours after getting my resupply box from the post office. It was about this time that I decided to take the day off.
I went to the community pool for a dip in the hot tub and a shower. I followed it up with dinner from Dairy Land (I wasn’t about to skip up a place that sold “cheesewheels,” basically a breaded deep fried hamburger patty loaded with cheese). At the city park, I pitched my tent and watched the movie “Hurt Locker.”
